Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Associate for the Community Engagement and Partnerships team assists in implementing programs and provides sound administrative support for the work of the team. The nature of this position requires the ability to represent the organization in public venues and the ability to complete several tasks simultaneously.
Major Job Functions
Plan and implement monthly education programs, “Our City, Our Schools” and “EDTalks”, to raise awareness of issues in public education:
- Build and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations
- Plan and implement recognition events for partners
- Develop and lead a communications plan for current partners
- Manage, monitor and make updates to social media outlets
- Schedule volunteers for career fairs and school site-based activities
- Represent AchieveMpls at community events
- Support the development and implementation of all Community Engagement initiatives
- Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualification Requirements:
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects to completion
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, able to meet deadlines
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
- An open, positive attitude and commitment to youth
- Experience with/knowledge of Minneapolis community-based organizations preferred
- General understanding of public education issues and trends preferred

Position: Senior Program Development & Quality Manager

Position Overview: We are looking for an exceptional leader, manager and innovator to guide the Program Development and Technical staff. Current technical specialists include health, protection/GBV, shelter, WASH, livelihoods and M&E. The Senior Program Development and Quality Manager is part of ARC’s International Programs Team and collaborates closely with the Emergency Response, Program Management, Government Affairs, Finance and Grants Management as well as Development and Communications to align strategy and implementation activities. The Manager will develop and secure funding for high-quality programs that achieve lasting impact through innovative design, rigorous attention to outcomes, and collaboration with the people we serve. This requires the ability to identify and validate the needs, and pain points, of beneficiaries as well as donors, and then craft programs that address those needs. The Manager will facilitate the work of program development advisors and technical specialists to generate creative programs and integrate their work. This position is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota with regular travel to Washington DC and country offices.
Education, Technical Skills, & Knowledge Required
Masters degree in relevant field. Minimum of 5 to 7 years of international management experience, with deep knowledge of the principal players, issues, policies and trends in the international humanitarian arena. Ability to manage a diverse team effectively, balance the interests of different stakeholders and provide excellent leadership by maintaining a constructive work environment and setting a positive example. Experience working in conflict, post-conflict and/or development settings; familiarity with situations of displacement a distinct advantage. Demonstrated entrepreneurial success in program development with a diverse range of donors, including USAID, UN and European donors and private foundations. Familiarity with a wide range of humanitarian program sectors. Sound M&E knowledge with demonstrated experience in M&E.

Position: Program Development Advisor
Location: Minneapolis, MN
The Program Development function supports four priority areas: 1. New program initiatives and proposal development; 2. Geographic program expansion; 3. Monitoring and evaluation; and 4. ARC emergency response preparedness.
Position Overview: Program development aims to identify need, work with donors and start effective interventions. As such, this position requires a range of skills and abilities and the successful applicant will have a demonstrated track record of working alongside both beneficiary populations and institutional donors. The Program Development Advisor will work with internal staff, partners, and donors to ensure complete, thorough and timely proposal preparation. The Program Development Advisor will join a dynamic team of achievers who are proactive and results-oriented in making ARC a successful organization. S/he will report to the Senior Program Development & Quality Manager and will be based in ARC’s Headquarters in Minneapolis.
Education, Technical Skills, & Knowledge Required
•At least 5 years of related professional experience including at least 3 in international humanitarian/disaster/post- conflict situations.
•Proven skills in identifying needs, program design, proposal writing, budgeting and donor relations.
•Demonstrated familiarity with donors (either working inside or along) such as USAID/OFDA and DOS/BPRM.
•Masters degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Humanitarian Affairs or related discipline.
•Working knowledge of French a plus.
