Advocacy
Elizabeth Arnold served as an Education Volunteer in Mozambique from 2015-2017. Her primary project was teaching 8th grade Physics with minimal resources and maximal creativity. She spent much of her time outside of school as a coordinator for a youth group which focused on building self-esteem, decision making skills, and education about STDs and safe sex. She also helped coordinate the National Science Fair Competition, where high school students design their own project or invention. She studied Biology and Spanish and is currently substitute teaching in Minnesota.
She joined the MNRPCV Board as a co-chair of advocacy, and hopes to inspire others to continue sharing their own peace corps experience, and to ensure future funding and a continuation of the program. |
