Peace Corps Legacy Plaza
The Peace Corps Legacy Association was formed by a group of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) in Minnesota to facilitate the development and financing of a significant national site in in the heartland of the U.S. honoring the service of all Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. The Peace Corps Legacy Association was established as a Minnesota non-profit corporation on September 13, 2018, and is now a 501(c)3 organization.
The original vision of a place to honor Peace Corps service has become a significant element of the national-service park that honors all forms of national service
The Peace Corps Legacy Plaza is being developed as part of a 3.5-acre national-service park with an existing state historical marker recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps. The park is located in Plainview, MN, in southeastern Minnesota. The Peace Corps Pioneers marker was dedicated in September 2018.
The goal of the Peace Corps Plaza is to advance and educate the public, especially youth, on the ideals and rewards of national service and to keep alive the spirit of volunteerism which has been a hallmark of American life and culture.

You can Honor your Peace Corps Legacy and help establish a unique Peace Corps presence in the Midwest through a donation to the Peace Corps Legacy Association. RPCV Donors at prescribed levels will be recognized by a natural clay brick installed in the Peace Corps Legacy Plaza and engraved with their name, home city and state, and host country and years of service. Family and friends can also donate on behalf of a Returned Volunteer.
Donations of $175 will be recognized with a 4” x 8” brick with space for the name of one Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.
Donations of $275 will be recognized with an 8” x 8” brick with space for the name of two Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (or multiple countries).
The Peace Corps Legacy Association is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Your gift is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. All donors will receive a receipt of their donation for their tax records.
